Belize Fashion Fusion 2014 a Success

This past weekend Nouveau Model Management, Belize's premier modeling agency partnered with well known wedding, fashion and events photographer and Philanthropist, Will Moreno from Will Moreno Photography to present an innovative show designed to promote Belizean fashion designers, Belizean jewelry designers, an international fashion designer with Belizean family ties all showcased on the runway by the beautiful and elegant models of Nouveau Model Management.

The fusion of designers such as Danny Torres from Jada's Fashions, Mauricio Canelo of De-Yans Fashion Jewelry, Lula Bennett of Lula's Impressions, supported by local boutiques such as Catwalk Fashions, Pink Boutique and Eve'e Secrets Lingerie made for a spectacular event. The main reason for the fusion and the fashion show was to show a child some love for Valentines as all profit from the show gets donated to charities such as the Belize Association of California and the Love Foundation for the less fortunate Belizean Children. The show was hosted by Jackie Castillo and William Neal.

International Designer, Geraldine Quijano, from Merida, who has Belizean family ties certainly amazed the audience with her swimsuit designs from the ultra modern to the retro styles that are now being used by international celebrities.

The audience was pleasantly surprised at the level of entertainment that they received not only from the runway segments by the designers but by the performances from the shadow dancers who's energy kept the audience wondering if they were real. There were also special performances by the band, Verge of Umbra as well as the Nu Generation Dance Company and Wilson Grinage.

There was also a segment where members of the audience got the opportunity to have fun and strut the runway which had the audience cheering and clapping for their favorites.

In the end the night was a success as the models from Nouveau Model Management finished off the show with a final walk showcasing all NMM Models who graced the runway.

This show has certainly set a new standard for runways shows in Belize and has certainly left the audience looking forward to Fashion Fusion 2015

The National Festival of Arts in Belize - Showcasing The Talent of Belizean Youths

June 1st, 2011

I have been hearing so much about this event that provides the youths of Belize with an outlet to showcase their talents in drama, dancing, poetry, and the arts, and this was an event I knew I had to see. This event is the National Festival of Arts, where children from all over the nation of Belize showcase their talents in the arts.
I was very excited at the thought of being invited to witness this event in person. This is an event created by The National Institute of Culture and History (NICH) to encourage the youths in the creative arts. This year's National Festival of Arts has two categories the Juniors and Seniors. The Juniors are those that are from the primary level including children of 4 to 13 years of age and then the Seniors which are individuals of the secondary level and includes children ages 14+.

Not knowing exactly what to expect, I made my way down to the Bliss Center for the Performing Arts and was amazed that they had a packed audience in the lower and upper levels. The spotlight shone on these talented chidren performing with enthusiasm and pouring their entire self into their performances.
What was so amazing was the fact that some of these children were so young, probably around age 4 or 5, and they were on stage performing to songs that certainly had a positive message. Some of the wonderful performances included drama, dance, poetry, and music. I was moved with the performances of these young, budding Belizean stars.
The costumes of some of the performances included the traditional Mestizo outfits, the Jankunu. Some of the other performances were very creative, and so were the vibrant bursts of colors of the costumes. I was very impressed at the level of performances and would definitely love to see this creativity in the minds, hearts and souls of the youths of Belize continue to linger.

Performances continue tomorrow at 10 AM for the Juniors and 4 PM for the Seniors. On Friday Night at 7 PM they will have a Literary Evening with poems and more. The event will end on Saturday with performances with Ozzy the clown and Friends, Chispin and Lucas Locuaz alonside the Playground Posse with performances at 3PM and 6PM.

Come out and support the youths of Belize!

A Christmas Giving - Bringing Smiles to the Faces of Children

"A Christmas Giving" is a cause to help children of less fortunate families and bring smiles to their faces by offering them a gift for Christmas. These children would have normally not recieved a gift during this precious time of year, a season of giving, the holiday time of year we all know as Christmas.

Belize Association of California, BelizeLive.net and Platinum International Real Estate have taken on the task of conducting charity drives in the United States and in Belize to benefit the less fortunate children. Everyone has seen the disparaging effects of the economy on many peoples lives but despite all that it's very encouraging to say that it has been a great success and they plan of continuing the effort year after year to bring these smiles to the children.

In a conjunction of efforts they have collected new and used toys, clothes and other items for boys, girls and babies which will go a long way.

If you have used toys that are working and clothes that your kids are not using, they would be more than happy to collect them from you for this worthy cause. So please friends, let’s put a smiles of the faces of less fortunate children. However small your donation can be, it will be greatly appreciated and will be going toward a great cause.

They know there is a place in your heart and a willingness to give to the less fortunate children especially during the season of giving. Please help to put a smile on the faces of children for the season of Christmas.
