Crystal Skull of Belize and the 2012 Doomsday Prophecies

The most famous crystal skull of all that has been found in the world is the Mitchell-Hedges Crystal Skull also known as "skull of doom". This Crystal Skull was allegedly discovered by a 17-year old Anna Mitchell-Hedges back in the 1920's while accompanying her adoptive father, Fredrick Mitchell-Hedges, while on an excavation of the ancient Mayan city of Lubaantun in Belize formerly British Honduras.

The Discovery of the Skull

Frederick Mitchell-Hedges was a member of the Maya Committee of the British Museum but he also had some eccentric views and is believed to be the person and role model that the movie character Indiana Jones was based on. He believed that the City of Atlantis was a real civilization which had actually existed, and that its remnants could still be found somewhere in Central America.

In 1924 he gathered a party of explorers who set sail from Liverpool bound for British Honduras (now Belize). While trekking through the rainforest, they all stumbled upon some mounds of stone overgrown with moss and foliage, which was first believed to be the lost City of Atlantis and then realised that they had discovered a lost Mayan city. It is a place known to the locals as Lubaantun, a Mayan name meaning ‘the city of the fallen stones’, and it was here, inside one of the great Maya Ruin Temples under an alter that his adopted daughter Anna Mitchell-Hedges claimed to have found the magnificent crystal skull. It was said that upon finding the Crystal Skull it was placed on the alter and all who was present danced around the alter in joy of the magnificent find and that everyone who was present had undergone a transformation of healing.
Anna Mitchell-Hedges was only seventeen years old when she found the crystal skull in Belize and claimed that the crystal skull had healing powers and that it kept her alive and happy and healthy all her long years until she died on April 11th, 2007 at the ripe old age of 100 years .There are other incredible claims that have been made about the mysterious and beautiful Mitchell-Hedges crystal skull. The Skull is highly  accurate anatomically and even has a separate lower jaw bone, just like a real human skull.

The Mitchell-Hedges skull is made of clear quartz crystal, and both cranium and mandible are believed to have come from the same solid block. It weighs 11.7 pounds and is about five inches high, five inches wide, and seven inches long. Except for some slight anomalies in the temples and cheekbones, it is a virtually anatomically correct replica of a human skull. Because of its small size and other characteristics, it is thought more closely to resemble a female skull and this has led some to refer to the Mitchell-Hedges skull as a "she."

Research on the Skull
This crystal skull was loaned to Hewlett-Packard’s crystal research laboratory for scientific tests to try to establish how old it was and how it had been made. Scientists were completely unable to carbon date it because crystal has no carbon in it. They then looked for tool-markings to try to establish how and when it was made. What is amazing is that fact even under extreme magnification they were stunned to find no evidence of any tool-marks on the skull which would have been evidence that it was carved with metal instruments and even more amazing is that researchers found that the skull had been carved against the natural axis of the crystal. Modern crystal sculptors today always take into account the axis, or orientation of the crystal's molecular symmetry before they carve, because if they carve the crystal "against the grain," it is bound to shatter even with the help of technology today with the use of lasers and other high-tech cutting methods.

Dr. Dorland's best hypothesis for the skull's construction is that it was roughly carved out with diamonds, and then the detail work was meticulously done with a gentle solution of silicon sand and water. The exhausting job, assuming it could possibly be done in this way would have required 300 years to complete. Leading one member of the research team to comment ‘This skull shouldn’t even exist!’ and leading others since to speculate that perhaps the skull is of ‘no earthly origin!’.

One of the most interesting facts that scientific tests reveal is that the crystal skulls are made from precisely the same type of quartz crystal (or piezo-electric silicon dioxide) which we use today inside all our modern electronic devices in minute quantities. Without it the internet and all other electronic communications would not be possible, and our whole modern world would simply cease to exist because it is used to store massive amounts of information. If you can imagine how much information we store inside these tiny silicon crystal chips inside our computers, just think how much information might be stored inside a crystal skull? This has lead many people to wonder if perhaps there might be some truth in the original legend which says that the crystal skulls are a source of great knowledge, wisdom and information that is yet to be discovered.

The Crystal Skull Inherited

Bill Homann is the current owner and caretaker of the “Mitchell-Hedges” Crystal Skull. Anna Mitchell-Hedges spent the last eight years of her life living in Bill's home under his tender care. Upon her passing away on April 11th, Bill's birthday, at the age of 100, Anna Mitchell-Hedges willed the Mitchell-Hedges Crystal Skull to Bill Hommann. It has become Bill's desire and hope, to carry on Anna and her father's legacy with the Crystal Skull.

Bill firmly believes that the Crystal Skull has the power to channel energy and get it flowing. He also believes that the Skull helps with mental, physical and emotional balance guiding us towards an in-depth knowledge of ourselves and all that surrounds us.
2012 and the Maya Dooms Day Prophecy
"13 Skull Theory"
According to Mayan legend there exist thirteen skulls all of the same size and shape as human skulls, but made of pure crystal scattered around the world. It is believed that the skulls were left behind by the earliest ancestors way back in time and believed to be the source of great knowledge and wisdom. The Skulls were said to contain important information about mankind’s origins, true purpose and future destiny.
This interesting legend prophesied that one day at the end of the Mayan "Long Count" calendar, b'ak'tun-cycle, which ends at according to the Maya, which has been translated by humans to end on 21.12.2012 or on 23.12.2012, when it reaches the end of a 5,126-year cycle. That it will be a time of great crisis for humanity with the earth falling off its axis, the beginning of the Apocalypse and the end of the world as we know it. It is believed that all 13 of these crystal skulls from around the world would have to all be rediscovered and brought back and lined up together to enlighten and reveal information vital to the very survival of the human race and prevent the 2012 Apocalypse and the end of our existing world.
As with everything human there are vast differences in opinions all over the world as to what will really happen. Movies have recently emerged from Hollywood depicting their version.
Some wonder if this is a real “End Of The World” or a transition to new spiritual level. According to Mayans there have been several end of the world events due to natural disasters. This latest Apocalypse on 21.12.2012 would be due to man’s own actions.

  1. So amazing. Very interesting info. Thank you.

  2. Hmmmm. Makes me homesick for Belize and it's fascinating mysteries. Thanks for sharing.

  3. all do know the Mitchell-Hedges find at Lubaantum has been proven as faked.

  4. "you all do know"? I think that if "Anonymous" had credible information then he/she would not be ashamed to reveal his/her real name. I worked for the Forestry Department in Belmopan and happen to know that it is true.

    1. The skulls origin is actual fake - skull of doom
One of archaeology's greats frauds. Exquisite carving mysterious to the end. The skull have been proven to have been made in the early 19 century. Fact.

  5. Nice - nice story, history, and music. A tribute to our Belize and PG especially in its time of sad upheaval.

  6. Very interesting! Though I honestly don't believe that the world will end just because of the Mayan Calender... They have predicted that before, and nothing happened. Not only that, buy it says in the bible that there will be no specific time or date stating the end of the world. If you guys believe that the world will end, then I can't say anything because you have your own opinion... We'll have to see on 21.12.10.

nice article....very interestin wanna know more about rest of Mayas in Belize how there are living if they still believe to the Maya's calender or just kidding us :) by the way thanks to the one who post this article .. nice job

  8. Lester Holt of NBC, among others, did quite an extensive research on this subject. You can find several videos on YouTube relating to this. Please keep in mind that this is not about "the end of the world". It is about a "cosmic shift" to happen across the universe. A little research will show that several cosmic shifts have occurred in the past but were only discovered after the fact. This is truly the only "prophetic" instance in which we know beforehand that something catastrophic is about to happen.

  9. Quite true David, the Mayas never said it was gonna be the end of the world but that the world would go through a transition at the end of the mayan calender which i might add is more accurate than the current one being used

  10. Why was the cystal skull allowed to leave Belize?

  11. If the Origin of this crystal skull was found in belize? Why was it allowed to leave its origin? or why has it not been returned?

  12. nice info. thnx. got it for my project :)

  13. They have nothing to do with the Mayan nor Aztec culture, the crystal that these are made from come from madagascar.
